The Highland games community was shocked to learn of the sudden passing last weekend of Fiona Sutherland from Alness, who was the Secretary of the Tain Highland Gathering for 29 years. She had been a stalwart of that meeting and was much respected in the Games world. She was the niece of the great Sandy Sutherland who himself was twice the SGA World Heavyweight Champion.
Her funeral will take place at 11am on Friday 27th March at Ardross Alness Bowling Club and thereafter at Rosskeen Cemetery. The thoughts of everyone at the RSHGA are with her partner Robert, her extended family and her wide circle of friends.
